Dr Lise Lewis Ch.FCIPD MBA, EMCC EIA Accredited Master Practitioner Coach and ESIA Coach | Mentor Supervisor Executive Coach | Relationship Leadership Coach | Team Coach | Coach Supervisor | Coach and Coach Supervisor Trainer | EMCC Past President | EMCC International Special Ambassador | Owner and Founder of Bluesky International

Becoming a member and volunteer of EMCC 15 years ago gave me the most amazing opportunity to contribute to the existing and emerging professions of mentoring, coaching and supervision. I worked on the creation of the EQA for accrediting coach | mentoring training programmes, the EIA individual accreditation for coaches | mentors and ESIA for coach supervisors. This included co-authoring the first EMCC Competency Framework integral to the EQA and EIA. I’ve done my best to role model the work of EMCC and have been awarded the EQA and ESQA for the Bluesky International coach | mentoring and supervision training programmes and personal accreditation for my practices as an executive coach and coach | mentor supervisor. These coaching | mentoring and supervision services are delivered mainly to international corporates with our first virtual coach supervision programme launching early in 2019.

This work in developing international quality standards for professional practice was an excellent platform to learn more about the industry, grow a professional network and gain a greater understanding of the global scene in which we work as practitioners. What an invaluable opportunity I had in learning more about cultural diversity and to continue contributing to the profession as EMCC International President from 2011-2017 and since then as EMCC International Special Ambassador.

A special achievement as my presidency drew to a close was to support the creation of EMCC APR – the first region in the history of EMCC and what an amazing addition thanks to the efforts of Ak Sabbagh the current APR President and his excellent team.

Other voluntary roles that keep me busy are mentoring and supervising people new to coaching and sometimes working in difficult circumstances. I’m also currently writing a book based on my doctoral research into feedback and hope that when finished it will be seen as a welcome contribution to an alternative perspective on people and organisational development.
